And we’re back with our seventh edition of Fan Tuesday. Every Tuesday we will highlight a Drake fan and their story. A portion of their story will be shared on Instagram while you will be able to view the full story here in the fan section of the website. It is my wish to bring Drake fans closer together by allowing everyone to share their personal connection to him. I also want to highlight the many ways Drake has inspired and continues to inspire people from all across the globe.
From: Miami, Florida
Drake is my inspiration and my hero. I don’t think I could ever find the words to truly thank him enough. In 09 is when I first became aware of Drake when I was searching for new music online. I really loved his lyrics and got extremely interested. He isn’t just a rapper who just raps about money and girls, but about life and things that actually matter in society. What attracts me to Drake is his style and his approach to life. He loves what he does for a living. He takes life as it comes, and isn’t insolent like many famous people.
Two years ago I met drake for the first time at Everglades High School in Florida. He was attending a basketball game and I met him as he was leaving which you can see in the featured image above.
On August 30th I went to his Summer Sixteen Tour concert in Miami. I was sitting Floor 3, Row 3 and I took a sign that I made to the show. The sign said, “If you are reading this I’ve been a fan since 09.” Right before the concert ended he started shouting out fans and thats when he noticed my poster and shouted me out! I was so happy! The next day I went to the second show in Miami and this time i was sitting in Floor 2, Row 1 right in the middle! He noticed me again and shouted me out again saying “I see you baby girl.”
It was around 10pm and I started heading out and ran into Papa Graham. He was so nice! I then headed to club E11evn before it got crowed and got the perfect spot. It was right next to the dj booth on the right side right behind Drake’s table. Later that night as Drake was leaving he looked at me so I asked him if we can take a snap (below) and he said sure, so we did. Once he left I had tears of happiness!! I love him so much he is such an amazing human being. What an amazing two nights I had! If I could tell Drake anything at this point, I would first say thank you. Thank you for always being here (not physically but emotionally & mentally).
