On Friday after his VMA rehearsal, MTV News caught up with Drake for an interview. Piece by piece the segments have been dropping. In this latest part, Drake explains the meaning behind his ‘Nothing Was The Same’ album art and the importance of it.
Last week with the news of Drake pushing his album back a week, he surprised fans by dropping the album cover. There are two covers which include a kid version of Drake staring at a now adult version of himself. “It’s a child version of myself starring at myself now. When I try to think back through this journey, it’s so hard to pinpoint all these moments and it gets foggy. Even on past albums when I been trying to tell this story, I’ve got there, but maybe not got there all the way. What that album art is to me is that this is my most clear, concise thoughts from now and my best recollection of then.” Let’s hope the stores listen to Drake and display the album covers correctly!
