Rev Run Talks Drake Being A Dope Rapper On 106 & Park (Video)

Drake Rev Run

After Drake dropped his new single “Started From The Bottom” on Friday night, Rev Run took to Twitter the next day to share his opinion on Drake. In his tweet Rev Run stated, “Say what you want Drake is the realest rapper out here”.

For those that missed it, yesterday Rev Run was on 106&Park and took the time to expound on his tweet. If you didn’t know, Rev Run is 1/3 of the legendary rap group Run DMC. It’s always great to hear other artists that have been in the game for a long time speak well of Drake and his music. I would definitely have to agree with Rev Run in that the love overshadows any hate especially when album time rolls around. Skip to the 4:25 mark to see what Rev Run had to say about Drake!

I am so over the Drake hate. I mean, it’s ridiculous. I sometimes mention to my followers (@yogihoagie) about what’s going on with Drake and what not and I get a lot of negative feedback for supporting him. One dude said that Drake’s too soft and he’s too this and too that. It irks the sh-t out of me when people make comments like that because they feel like it’s a b-tch move to express the way you feel. If Drake wasn’t expressing the way he felt- he’d be lying to us all. People always swear that their favorite rappers are so hard just because they don’t outright make records about the b-tches who have hurt them- meanwhile, these same rappers that are supposed to be so hard are the same n-ggas who play Drake before they go to bed at night. I think one of Drake’s hardest lines from one of his HARDEST songs “Lord Knows” was “I’m hearin’ all of the jokes, I know that they’re tryna push me. I know that showin’ emotion don’t ever mean I’m a p-ssy. Know that I don’t make music for n-ggas who don’t get p-ssy so those are the ones I count on to diss me or overlook me.”
    That’s all folks.
