Drake Breaks Spotify Stream Record With ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’

This past Friday Drake caused quite the stir when he dropped his new mixtape ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ on iTunes. Here we are only a few days later and he is already breaking new Spotify records.

According to Spotify, Drake has set the record for most streams from an album in its debut week. In the United States, songs from the album were streamed more than 17.3 million times in three days. Drake previously held the record for most streams in a debut week with his 2013 ‘Nothing Was The Same’ album which had 15.8 million streams. Additionally, Drake was named Spotify’s most streamed artist of 2013.

‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ will debut at number one this week with over 500,000 units sold. This is very exciting news being that the project is only a mixtape and Drake is still hard at work on his upcoming album, ‘Views From The Six’.
