Drake Earns 11th No. 1 On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart With “Hold On, We’re Going Home”

Just go ahead and call him Billboard Papi as Drake has become quite unstoppable when it comes to climbing the charts. With “Hold On, We’re Going Home” hitting the #1 spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, Drake earns his 11th No. 1 song.

Twelve of fifteen songs from ‘Nothing Was The Same’ are currently charted on the Hot 100 chart. He also has broken the record for most digital sales in a week for a hip-hop album with ‘Nothing Was The Same’. Thanks to Drake dropping the video for “Hold On” at just the right time, airplay and streams have increased dramatically over the past week. “Hold On” is currently #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and continues to climb. Drake currently holds the record for most #1’s on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and the Rap chart as well. On The Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs Chart, Drake is currently right behind Usher who holds the record with 12. Below you can view the list of Drake’s #1 hits on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart courtesy of Billboard.

According to Billboard:

The song’s [Hold On, We’re Going Home] 3-1 rise ends Robin Thicke’s reign with “Blurred Lines” at 16 weeks and marks Drake’s 11th leader on the list. Since Nielsen data began powering the chart in Dec. 1992, only Usher has taken more titles to the summit, with 12.

With airplay and streaming gainer awards, “Hold On” owes its ascent primarily to its 13% rise to 12 million listener impressions and its 86% lift to 5.7 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen BDS. The impressive increase in streams is due to the song’s video being released on Sept. 25.
