Drake Sets New One-Week Digital Sales Record With ‘Nothing Was The Same’

Not only is ‘Nothing Was The Same’ currently the #1 album in the country, it is already helping Drake to break more records.

Earlier today we learned that it helped Drake tie Lil Wayne for most simultaneously charted tracks on the Hot 100. Now we learn that Drake has broken the record for most digital sales in one-week for a hip-hop album. This record was previously held by Drake’s boss Mr. Carter aka Lil Wayne. Drake is definitely not lying in “Tuscan Leather” when he states, “I’m just as famous as my mentor, but that’s still the boss.”

According to Yahoo Music:

“Nothing Was The Same is #1 on Top Digital Albums. It sold 387K digital copies, which allows it to set a new one-week digital sales record for a hip-hop album. The old record was held by Tha Carter IV, which sold 362K digital copies in its first week.”
