Today during the WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) Apple announced its new music streaming service, Apple Music. Drake was in attendance to the keynote to talk about one of its features, Connect.
Apple Music will direct fans with the artists and feature unreleased music, live DJs broadcasting, and a 24/7 global radio. Connect, a part of Apple Music, will allow artists to actively engage and connect directly with their fans. Connect pages are followed by listeners and what they contain is left up to each individual artist. “Instead of having to post your stuff on these different and sometimes confusing places, it’s all in one place: Connect.”
“One of the problems faced when an artist starts out, Drake argued, was getting attention and the message about music out. Connect could address that for a new age of artists, he suggested, by allowing them to sell not only their musical efforts but the ethos behind their music too.”
“I can’t wait to incorporate Apple Music into what I’m doing next”, said Drake who has been hard on work on ‘Views From The Six’. Apple Music will be available beginning June 30th and will start off with a free three month trial.
