Last week Bachata singer Romeo Santos released his new single “Odio” which features Drake. The song is doing great as it debuted at #1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay Chart.
Drake currently holds the record for the most #1’s on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart. With this new Drake assisted single “Odio”, Romeo Santos has now tied for most songs to debut at #1 on the Latin Airplay chart. According to Billboard:
“Odio” is the second single from Santos’ album “Formula, Vol. 2,” due Feb. 25. Although an official music video has yet to be released, a lyric video and an audio video on his YouTube channels have amassed more than 6 million views worldwide in the song’s first week of availability.
With Romeo Santos crossing over and collaborating with Drake, the question “Is Bachata Going Mainstream?” has been raised. FOX 26 news station has taken a look into this as they discuss Romeo Santos, Drake and Bachata music in general. Check the video out below.
