Elliott Wilson On Drake’s ‘Started From The Bottom’: “Hip-Hop Needed An Anthem”

Elliot Wilson The Truth Drake Started From The Bottom

As many know Elliott Wilson of Rap Radar does a weekly segment called “The Truth” in which he talks a variety of topics that arise in the hip-hop world. A while back the topic was “Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2013″ in which he named Drake’s junior album as the number one pick.

This week Elliott returns with a new video in which he discusses Drake’s new single, “Started From The Bottom”. As Elliott says in the video, “Hip-Hop needed an anthem and I think we got one”. I think most of us can identify with the song in that we have all struggled in some manner. Whether you have overcame your struggle yet, or not, I believe this song serves as inspiration to keep pushing through. Check the video below to see what else Elliott Wilson had to say about the new single.

I KNEW IT! I KNEW 40 DIDN’T PRODUCE “SFTB”. Lol, it’s still a really good record though. I like that Drake said he felt like no one knows enough about his past and his story- that is so true. I don’t think we will ever know enough about him or anyone for that matter. One thing I can definitely appreciate about Drake is how sincere and genuine he is when it comes to his music. He tells you straight how he feels at the moment and he sugar coats NOTHING. I don’t like using this word for men usually but Drake is a very classy man- or at least that’s what he portrays. I definitely agree about it being an anthem- it is definitely that. Not only is it an anthem for the entertainment industry, but also for those of us who have been struggling to make it- we out here grindin’ and when we all make it- we’re gonna blast STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM, NOW WE HERE!
