Today, DJ Drama stopped by LA Leakers to discuss many topics including the news of Drake & 40 co-executive producing Aaliyah’s posthumous album. DJ Drama had nothing but nice things to say as he was feeling “Enough Said” and is excited for the project. He also believes Drake is helping keep Aaliyah’s legacy alive for the younger generation. With all the news surrounding Drake and 40 co-executive producing Aaliyah’s posthumous album, I thought it only right to take it back to an interview in which Drake discusses her influence on him. For as long as I can remember, Drake has mentioned Aaliyah in his interviews and this is one of my favorite interviews in which he does so. Also, today it was confirmed by Blackground Records that Drake and 40 will indeed be co-executive producing the album which is set to drop sometime this fall. Catch the interview after the jump.
OVO Fest was definitely an amazing show and day in general. Not only did Drake give a great show, he also dropped a collab with Aaliyah (Enough Said) before the show started. After the show, T-Rexxx of Much Music was able to catch up with Drake after the show for an exclusive interview in which he talked about his Aaliyah collab and the show in general. Drake also makes mention of an upcoming Aaliyah project that he and 40 are in charge of! After hearing “Enough Said” this is bound to be a great project! After hearing the song “R.I.P.” it’s no secret that Drake and Rita Ora make a great musical duo. In the video after the jump at the 16:30 mark, Rita talks about her relationship with Drake and an unfinished song she did with him called “What If I Kissed You Right Now”. If the lyrics sound familiar it’s because a while back, a snippet of Drake singing the song leaked on the internet. Hopefully we get to hear the song one day, and more collaborations between the two are in our future!
We’ve already posted footage from this years OVO Fest and now we have some great pictures. I personally took all these shots myself and let me just say, the crowd was wild! One thing Drake has always said since being signed is that he is forever with the Young Money/Cash Money team. As a gift for all his hard work and success he received an original Cash Money chain. The medallion has been around since 1993 and can be seen in old Cash Money videos and in the Hall of Fame. Check out what Drake had to say about it after the jump. “YM I remain that forever. Last night Drake tore up the stage during OVO Fest 2012. In addition to Drake’s own amazing set, he brought out some special guests for the show. One of those special guests was the one and only Nicki Minaj and the crowd went crazy for her! Earlier tonight Drake made history again at the Molson Amphitheatre during his 3rd annual OVO Fest. Toronto already knew they were in for something special, but he still managed to surprise the crowd with his performance and special guests. Some of this year’s guests included Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, and Rick Ross. In addition to the special guests, Drake of course performed some fan favorites from “Take Care”.
